Society Mission Statement

Maturity Works of Greater Victoria is a non-profit society dedicated to informing and supporting all people over forty years of age who are concerned with employment and career options in our ever-changing society.

Society Purpose

The slogan of Maturity Works of Greater Victoria is
Push Past Forty.

As Push Past Forty, the name suggests that the society promotes the rights, and advocates the hiring, of individuals past forty.

Push Past Forty suggests the need to diminish age consideration when hiring, as well as including older workers when offering employment resources.

The word Push indicates a desire to lobby politicians and employers.

The society, by promoting the interaction of people from different backgrounds, both waged and unwaged, members as well as non-members, encourages changes in attitudes, behaviour, and policies, improving the employment and career options of older workers.

Improving communication, in both directions, between people and organizations will raise awareness of older worker employment needs, support, and options.
